Itzhak Perlman made a special guest appearance at Billy Joel’s concert on Monday, March 9th at Madison Square Garden. Joel’s 15th-in-a-row sold-out show at MSG this season, the concert was a historic event in which these two living music legends appeared on one stage. The crowd of 19,000 fans roared in recognition of this iconic moment and the subject was a top trender on social media.
Introduced to the audience by Billy Joel as “the greatest violinist of our time”, Perlman joined Joel for two songs that brought the house down. The first was “The Downeaster Alexa”, a song the duo recorded together on Joel’s “Storm Front” album released in 1989. The second was “And So It Goes” which no doubt touched every heart in the audience.
