Cristian Macelaru returns to conduct Chicago Symphony

A regular guest on the CSO podium, this week Cristian Macelaru returns to Chicago to lead the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in subscription concerts May 26-31. Cellist Alisa Weilerstein joins him for the World Premiere of “Outscape” for cello and orchestra by Pascal Dusapin. Also on the program is Holst’s “Planets” and Ibert’s “Bacchanale”. This week’s concerts celebrate Macelaru’s fifth subscription program since his debut in 2012.
