Benedetti awarded a CBE in New Year Honors List

Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the 2019 New Year Honors List! Awarded an MBE in 2013 and the Queen’s Medal for Music in 2016, Nicola receives this honor for her distinguished services to music in the United Kingdom. The honor is one class below a damehood/knighthood.

This meaningful public recognition encourages me to deepen my commitment to music, to playing and to providing enrichment, inspiration and variation to the education system that serves communities throughout the UK. I am more resolved than ever to reinforce my advocacy for arts and culture, and to challenge what it means to teach music well.”

Nicola was alongside choral conductors David Hill and Stephen Darlington, composer Nitin Sawhney and pianist Christian Blackshaw.
