Composer and flutist Valerie Coleman has signed with Primo Artists for worldwide general management. Coleman, whose Seven O'Clock Shout has become a popular post-Covid curtain-raiser among orchestras, is the founder of and former flutist with Imani Winds. Her newest work Fanfare for Uncommon Times was premiered in July 2021 at the Caramoor Festival with the Orchestra of St. Luke's. Her song cycle for soprano Angel Blue is to be premiered in Carnegie Hall in February by The Philadelphia Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin.

Coleman is on the flute and composition faculty at the Mannes School of Music and leads a year-long residency at The Juilliard School next year.

Primo Artists Founder and president Charlotte Lee called Coleman “an imaginative composer-performer whose voice and spirit is fearless, freely expressive and full of character.” Coleman in return called her new (and first) manager, "a savvy pioneer who understands what a 21st century artist needs."
