December 2022 Artist Updates from Primo Artists

Itzhak Perlman, violin: On December 4, Perlman returns to Chicago in a sold-out show of his critically-acclaimed klezmer program, In the Fiddler’s House, presented at Chicago Symphony Center. From there, he embarks on his “Perlman and Friends” tour with luminaries Emanuel Ax, Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the Juilliard String Quartet to UMS Ann Arbor on December 10, Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall on December 12, and Carnegie Hall on December 14.

Randall Goosby, violin: From November 27 to December 14, Goosby embarks on a 6-city North American recital tour with pianist Zhu Wang. He tours to Vancouver Recital Society, Stanford LivePhilharmonic Society of Orange County, La Jolla Music Society, Sarasota Opera House, and the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society.

Seong-Jin Cho, piano: Seong-Jin Cho returns to the United States in December for recitals at Cal Performances Berkeley and the Soka Performing Arts Center in a co-presentation with the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Boston’s Celebrity Series.

James Gaffigan, conductor: James Gaffigan leads the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) from December 9 to 23 in a production of Puccini’s La Bohème.

Aizuri Quartet: This month, PR client the Aizuri Quartet performs their acclaimed Song Emerging program at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago on December 10, followed by Washington D.C.’s Library of Congress for the Stradivari Anniversary on December 17. 

Steven Mackey, composer: PR client Steven Mackey releases a new portrait album of works for violin and orchestra, Beautiful Passing, on December 9 on the Canary Classics label. Works include his violin concerto Beautiful Passing (2008), with soloist Anthony Marwood, and his symphony, Mnemosyne’s Pool (2014), both recorded live by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra led by conductor David Robertson. Robertson leads the National Symphony Orchestra in performances of Mnemosyne’s Pool on December 1, 2, and 3, 2022 at The Kennedy Center.

Nick Revel, viola: PR client Nick Revel, of the PUBLIQuartet, performs an album release concert presented by Chamber Music NY on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 7:00pm at Rockwood Music Hall. Revel’s program features selections from his brand new album DREAM COLLIDER – a collection of 13 self-composed, performed, produced, and engineered tracks ranging from pop and electronic to ambient-style film – released October 27, 2022 on Sapphire Records. 

Sphinx Organization: PR client, the Sphinx Organization, was honored in The New York Times this month with a profile tracing its legacy and impact within the field of classical music. Read “They Were Ahead of the Curve on Diversity in Classical Music.”

TAK Ensemble: On December 3, the New York Philharmonic presents Primo PR client TAK Ensemble in a Nightcap Series concert at Lincoln Center’s new Sidewalk Studio. TAK will perform the world premiere of Tyshawn Sorey’s For jaimie branch, alongside works by Ashkan Behzadi, Erin Gee, David Wubbels, and David Bird.

Seth Parker Woods, cello: PR client, cellist Seth Parker Woods, received a rave review in The New York Times for the world premiere of his evening-length piece, Difficult Grace, at the 92nd Street Y. Read more about why they call Woods, “a cellist of prodigious technical gifts and sharp intellect.”
