James Gaffigan’s 2020/21 Lucerne Symphony season has been announced! Our maestro’s opening night program for his final season as the Music Director will feature Beethoven, Berwald and Brahms.

Gaffigan will also conduct works such as Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, Schumann’s Fourth Symphony and Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra and will be closing out the season with Mahler’s Fifth Symphony. Gaffigan conducts works by living composers such as Jörg Widmann and Barak Schmool.

Guest conductors and soloists include Daniil Triifinov, Michael Sanderling, Nicola Benedetti, Nicholas Angelich, Bertrand de Billy, Leia Zhu, John Storgårds and Maria Dueñas.
