This week, media highlighted the news that conductor James Gaffigan signed with Primo Artists for North and South American Management.

The Violin Channel announced the news on their home page. The site writes: “James currently serves as Chief Conductor of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra and as Principal Guest Conductor with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic – and has previously worked as Associate Conductor of the San Francisco Symphony, under the mentorship of Michael Tilson Thomas. ‘I have known Charlotte since she founded Primo in 2015 and have been extremely impressed from the start … her dedication to her clients and relationships with colleagues is extraordinary …’ James has today said.”

Susan Elliott from Musical America writes: “Conductor James Gaffigan, Chief Conductor of the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and Principal Guest Conductor of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, has signed with Primo Artists for North and South American management…. Gaffigan, also Music Director Designate of the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra, is increasingly active as a podium guest, with return engagements to the New York Philharmonic, and San Francisco, St. Louis and National symphonies scheduled for next season, along with debuts with the Paris Opera and Philharmonia Orchestra of London.”

Norman Lebrecht from Slipped Disc featured him on the Slipped Disc homepage stating: “Boutique agency Primo Artists has taken on the North and South America representation of James Gaffigan, chief conductor of the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester.”
