Cristian Măcelaru’s 20/21 season WDR Sinfonieorchester season has been announced! Our maestro’s second season as Chief Conductor will feature him on an all-Beethoven opening program and a Rachmaninoff festival to close the season.

He leads epic works such as Mendelssohn Symphony No. 2 “Hymn of Praise”, Brahms/Schönberg Piano Quartet No. 1, Dvořák 9, Bruckner 7 and Mahler’s “Resurrection” Symphony with the WDR Rundfunkchor and Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks choirs. Plus works by living composers such as György KurtágAnna ThorvaldsdottirMark SimpsonMason Bates, Karim Al-Zand and Wynton Marsalis.

Guest conductors and soloists include Christoph EschenbachMarek JanowskiJörg WidmannPinchas ZukermanNicola BenedettiSeong-Jin Cho and Renaud Capuçon.
